The core curriculum focuses on business administration foundational principles, in such areas as effective evaluation of factual information, working efficiently with others, the promotion of moral and ethical values within the business community, and sound and creative decision making.

Human Resource Business Elective Courses:

Training and Development

This course provides the study of needs analysis, training program design, conveying objectives and goals, interconnecting with media, acting as a change agent, administering, and evaluating programs.

Compensation and Benefits

This course examines compensation models that provide an integrating framework for the Human Resources professional. Major compensation issues are discussed in the context of current theory, research, and practice.

Organizational Staffing and Selection

This course challenges the student in the development of a working knowledge of staffing system models, economic conditions, labor markets, and labor unions’ influence on staffing.

Fundamentals of H.R. Management

This course provides a study of the functions of human resource management identified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) such as employment, training, benefits, etc.

Note: Students majoring in Business Administration must earn a minimum grade of “C” in each major area course or have a minimum 2.5 GPA in their major area.
